Your step-by-step guide to Checkout Fairtrade

Helping us find Australia’s Most Fairtrade Friendly Supermarket couldn’t be easier!

  • Simply visit your local supermarket (ie. Coles, Woolworths/Safeway,  Aldi, IGA, Foodworks or Spar) between 20 April – 24 May 2009.

  • The FAIRTRADE LabelFind all the Fairtrade Labelled products you can. Common Fairtrade products currently stocked in major supermarkets include: Coffee, Tea, Chocolate/Cocoa and Nuts (see below for some of the products you are likely to find in your supermarket).

    You may also find others.If so, be sure to record any other additional types of Fairtrade products you find! All products should have the FAIRTRADE Label on their product packaging. Any products stating they are ‘fair trade’ but not carrying the FAIRTRADE Label should not be included in your tally.

  • Simply fill out your Checkout Fairtrade postcard (download a copy here), and then send it back to the address provided, or you can enter your results online – vote now & win!

  • Be sure to spread the word and tell your friends about the competition and the life-changing difference buying Fairtrade makes for producers, workers and communities in developing countries, by sending them a link to the Checkout Fairtrade video!
